Entry-level production printers with convincing profiles

DEVELOP launches ineo+ 1060/1070

Langenhagen, March 2014. The latest range of print solutions launched by DEVELOP is designed to meet the specific needs of corporate printrooms, printshops, print providers, high-volume offices and advertising agencies. The ineo+ 1060/1070 series offers a maximum of productivity, ease of use, media flexibility and print quality in the entry-level production printing segment.

“The performance qualities of these new systems make them an ideal solution for customers looking for a production printing solution that offers excellent value for money,” says Karl-Friedrich Edenhuizen, the DEVELOP product manager responsible for the ineo+ 1060/1070 series.

Increased productivity

The biggest challenges in production printing environments are short print runs, tight turnaround times and the additional time and cost of offline finishing. The ineo+ 1060/1070 series promises to increase productivity by shortening turnaround times and making short-run printing more lucrative. Delivering 3,316 to 3,907 pages per hour, these print systems not only make high-volume printing possible but also require minimal user intervention, which in turn maximises uptime. What’s more, their flexible parts replacement function, ORU-M (Operator Replaceable Unit Management), ensures downtimes are minimised.

Quicker learning curves

As tight deadlines and heavy workloads rule out lengthy training sessions, a production printing system has to be easy to set up and operate. These machines have been designed to shorten learning curves and maximise machine uptime. With minimal training required to operate these systems print providers can get the machine working, and earning money, in no time at all. A paper catalogue function that facilitates paper settings and easy-to-follow onscreen instructions that ensure rapid removal of any paper jams exemplify the machines’ user-friendliness.

New business opportunities
Though flexibility is crucial in any production printing environment, commercial printshops and print providers are particularly keen to extend their portfolio to generate new business. The prerequisite is greater media flexibility, which is one of these machines’ strengths. Thick and coated paper, for example, is reliably fed in via a newly developed suction feeder while two air-assist units deliver a tried-and-tested feed-in performance and an enhanced air-blow fusing separation mechanism has improved feeding of thin paper. Automatic two-sided printing is possible for paper of up to 300 g/m2 and a newly developed fusing unit reduces the risk of envelope printing errors. By safely handling such a wide range of media, these machines makes new digital printing applications technically possible and commercially feasible.

Offset-like print quality
The critical features include a print resolution of 1,200 x 1,200 x 8 bit, best-in-class image quality thanks to S.E.A.D.IV image processing, more natural textures through the new high-definition polymerised toner, enhanced colour density adjustment and high-precision centring correction. This offset-like print quality enables digital print providers to compete in the lucrative production printing market.
